About Find a Well Lab

Find a Well Lab helps private well owners find a certified lab and the right tests. Public water systems have to test and report. Private wells don't, so the job falls to the owner. The official information is often a PDF or a map that's hard to use on a phone.

Where our data comes from

Every lab we list comes from an official state certification or accreditation list. Each state page links that list, says which edition we copied, and shows the date we last checked it. We don't add labs, phone numbers, or prices that the official source doesn't publish.

What we are not

We are not a lab, and we don't endorse any lab. Accreditation can change. Before you send a sample, call the lab to confirm it accepts private well samples and runs the test you need. For questions about test results, contact your state or county health department.

Corrections

If a listing is out of date, tell us and we'll check it against the state source.
